Applications

In the class:

Invention Squad
The Invention Squad section focuses on the engineering design process.

What will your students invent today?

Students in each lesson will focus on a specific stage of the design process:

  • Find - problem definition
  • Prototype design
  • Test
  • Evaluation

In the final lesson, students will incorporate all of these steps to design something for someone.

Kickstart A Business
The section focuses on the development of computational thinking.

If your students have a good idea then they should be prepared because entrepreneurship can knock on their door at any time.

Through this section your students can transform their ideas into reality.

Through the courses students will develop skills such as:

  • The deconstruction of a problem into smaller parts
  • Debugging
  • Pattern recognition and code usage
  • The creation of algorithms

In the final lesson, students will incorporate all of these skills in an effort to design a robot that sorts boxes in a factory.

Life Hacks
The section focuses on data representation and management.

Examining data does not have to be boring. Discover new ways to represent data.

Students will explore topics such as:

  • Synchronization
  • Variables and functions
  • Qualitative data on weather conditions
  • Quantitative meteorological data
  • Paintings

In the final lesson, students will incorporate all these concepts in order to design a personal trainer who will help them learn something faster.

Competition Ready
In the Competition Ready section, students will be introduced to the world of robotics competitions as they will gradually develop knowledge regarding the basic stages of building and programming autonomous robots.

They will work collaboratively to build a robot, perform tests to perfect their programs, apply the design process to develop solutions to solve missions, while developing skills such as collaboration, teamwork and skills that are necessary for the future in the labor market.

Afterschool:
SPIKE Prime also introduces STEAM to programs and activities after school. In Robotics Club, MAKERSPACES, programming learning spaces etc.

For the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) and World Robot Olympiad (WRO) competitions, the SPIKE PRIME Expansion set and the Competition Ready section will help students and teachers who are new to robotics and need more standard training.

The final course of the Competition Ready section is directly related to the annual FIRST LEGO League competition and specifically to the Robot Game, which makes it ideal for admission to competitions either in school or in out-of-school programs.

FILES

The new LEGO® Education SPIKE ™ App application introduces students to programming and robotics in a simple and at the same time intuitive way.

The programming environment with SPIKE Prime is based on the Scratch drag and drop programming language for Tablets and PCs, which is currently used by millions of students around the world, offering ease of use.
